Located at the Summit of mountain Pidurutalagala, 8295 ft above sea level. This is the heights elevation in the island. Secondary surveillance Radar were located at the station giving coverage of 200 Nautical Miles. In addition, the station also maintains several VHF Transmitters/Receivers used for extended range VHF Communication by the Sri Lankan Area Control. The Radar Data & VHF Communications are linked to Ratmalana via a digital Micro Wave Link.
