I am pleased to be associated with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Air Traffic Engineering Officer’s Association of Sri Lanka (ATEOA-SL) which has done yeoman service to its profession and also to the Airport and Aviation Services of Sri Lanka (AASL) as its premier professional body.
I am made to understand that the theme of the anniversary is Air Traffic Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) which signifies the value it places on its staff, recognizes by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), for the installation, maintenance & calibration of the CNS/ATM system in the aviation domain.
It is encouraging to note that ATEOA-SL is part of the International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (IFATSEA). I am sure this would allow them to share advancing knowledge and technology in order to keep abreast with the growing global standards and norms in aviation.
I appreciate the efforts undertaken by ATEOA-SL to provide training to their membership to improve their knowledge, skills and competencies that will eventually support the Aeronautical Engineering Services in Sri Lanka.
I am also aware of their future plans to support AASL to enhance its radar coverage in order to improve efficiency and reliability of flight information within the region.
I wish them success in their anniversary celebrations and also in their future endeavors to help the country.
